Getting Started - RIG EDITION!
All RIGht (pun fully intended), let's explain what RIGs are first. A RIG, short for "Related Interest Group", is any specific group/branch that is in some way connected to The ADR Organization. These can be (but are DEFINITELY not limited to) branches of the original ADR Organization, teams of certain individuals, fucked up cults, groups of anomalies working together, opposing organizations, lame corporations, etc. That is the general idea. Now it's time to get a little more specific!
You can find the "RIGs" page under the "Other Files " section on the top bar.
RIG Format for Dummies
Before you start your reading, make sure you've read the ESSENTIAL TERMS in the Newbie Guide!
So, RIGs are divided into categories. These categories will contain small RIG info panels with essential information about each RIG, so no need to click on any links just yet! Below is the list of categories, along with short explanations of what each category is.
ADR BRANCHES: Individual direct branches of ADR. They are mostly groups of employees tasked with various responsibilities, such as collection, research, extermination, etc.
ALLIED GROUPS: Groups that are either on good terms with ADR, directly help them out, or simply have similar goals. These groups must have some sort of direct connection to ADR, even if they are fully separate entities.
OPPOSING GROUPS: Groups that are either on bad terms with ADR, directly attempt harm, or simply have opposite goals. Basically, the opposite of the previous category. These groups also must have some sort of direct connection to ADR, even if they are fully separate entities.
INDEPENDENT GROUPS: Groups that have no connection to ADR whatsoever but have been recognized as RIGs due to their similarity to ADR. They can still be on good or bad terms with ADR, but aren't directly connected to them in any way and function fully independently.
WE DON'T EVEN KNOW…: Groups that uhh, well, some groups are so weird and random that we just have no idea where we can fit them! These are mostly reserved for more comedic shitpost-esque RIGs.
Now, each category will have a list of RIGs tied to it. All RIGs will have the same format, with a couple of words that might be kind of confusing, so below is an explanation of the beautiful RIG FORMAT!
Status
The current activity status of the RIG in question. This can either be "Active" if the group is fully operational, "Inactive" if the group is, for some reason, no longer operational, or "Unknown" if the group is so secretive that it's impossible to know whether it's operational or not.
Traits
This is where the fun begins! "Traits" are used to give context on what kind of RIG you're reading about. These are divided into categories, separated by a ";".
From start to finish, these categories are:
Scale of Operation
- Local: The RIG operates on a local scale. This can be a town, village, city, county, etc.
- National: The RIG operates on a national scale.
- International: The RIG operates on an international scale.
Type of Group
- Team: The RIG has a few members and is not widely recognized.
- Organization: The RIG is a large organization with many members and wider recognition.
- Corporation: The RIG is an official corporation connected to ADR, or anomalies in general.
- Cult: The RIG is a damn cult, clearly. It's a group of freaks worshipping some anomaly or something.
- Religion: The RIG is a recognized religion with many members. It still worships some anomaly or something, but on a grand scale.
Human or anomaly-run group?
- Anomalous: The RIG is run by an entity/entities classified as anomalies. MUST have a related ADF article.
- Non-Anomalous: The RIG is run by humans. Shocker.
Motives
- Helpful: The RIG is on friendly, close terms with ADR and has shown interest in working for/with the organization.
- Neutral: The RIG is completely neutral towards ADR. It can be an opposing group as long as it's not directly causing harm. It can also be an affiliated group if it's not directly working for/with ADR.
- Malicious: The RIG is actively trying to harm ADR or humanity in general and is considered a threat.
- Unknown: The motives of this RIG are unclear.
Summary
This is where the description of the RIG is located. It's straight to the point, direct, and gives you all the necessary info.
RIG Page
Optionally, but highly recommended for writers, this is where you will find the RIG's official page, containing in-depth info, lore, logs, stories, and articles associated with the RIG.
There is also a collapsible table of contents on the top of the page, as well as a "Go to Top" button in the bottom right corner of each RIG info panel for ease of navigation.
