The Anomaly: An umbrella that does what its supposed to do just… way stronger. It dries out whatever is under it to the bottom of the handle (like a cylinder). 7.27 seconds until all water is drained out. Only dries stuff out when open. If shut, it's just a closed umbrella.

Any critique would help! Also, I'm first under this forum category >:D

Sorry, sorry, let me be professional. First of all, welcome and congrats on being the first ever person to post an idea here!

Now, the basic idea sounds like it has great potential. If I'm getting this right, it's an "aggressive umbrella" that actively dries things out as long as water is dropping on it? Damn, that's just what this wiki needs in it's 1st file cabinet! An umbrella taking it's job too seriously… Just imagine walking on a rainy street, some guy opens his umbrella and not even 10 seconds later, youre looking at his mummified remains, dry as the desert. Yikes.
I would like to see where this goes! Keep in mind that this is not the SCP Wiki and you do not have to stick to a strict writing style when drafting, as long as you have the required fields. Definitely look at the writing guide and wiki syntax, and feel free to ask for help anytime!

Sounds just about right! It doesn't require water to be on it however, just water to be within the cylindrical area of effect. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I will definitely have a draft soon! And I am aware this is not the SCP Wiki, I may still slip into technical writing because that's just what I'm used to. Thanks for the feedback!

The umbrella is actually black, its one of those collapsible ones. Originally it was gonna be blue. The water probably just gets transported back up into the sky, but I'm not really too sure yet.

"Where da water go?" is actually a good question. Maybe it gets dispersed through the outer side of the umbrella in vapor form?

Also, to help build this idea a bit more, does the umbrella suck out the water from whoever is holding it through, idk, the handle and dry out a person like that? Or does it simply start blowing extremely hot and dry air towards the user and dry them like that?

Yeah I'm still working out "Where da water go?" but I'm gonna say that the umbrella transports all molecules of H2O out of the body to wherever the rest of the water goes. Like a really weird straw? And the person or thing doesn't need to be touching the umbrella, just in the area of effect.
